About - Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium
The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is one of the most important venues for the Commonwealth 2010 games scheduled to be held in Delhi. Constructed in 1982 by the Government of India the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is situated in the C.G.O. Complex in Lodhi Road. Spreading over 100 acres of lush green land this sports complex has been serving as an all purpose sports ground since its establishment. Fully remodeled the venue is all set to host the opening ceremony of the 2010 Commonwealth Games planned to be held on 3rd October. Apart from a host of fireworks there will be a marching ceremony that will be led by Australia the host nation of the previous Commonwealth Games.- Four Play areas

The various games to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium include Athletics (6 - 12), Lawn Bowls ( 4 - 13) and Weightlifting (4 - 12 ) October.
