Amritsar Health Care

The government of the state of Punjab has made continuous efforts to ensure that the Amritsar health care is well maintained in the city. To achieve the objective of the government, several hospitals and sanatoriums have been established furnished with the required infrastructure.

The hospitals of Amritsar serve indoor and outdoor patients. Specialized doctors are present to treat the patients who arrive at the hospitals of Amritsar for consulting the doctor. The hospitals are well furnished with automated and digitally operated instrument required to administer the patients.

The Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Amritsar is one of the oldest hospitals of the region established in the year 1891. The hospital is furnished with specialized surgical instruments and laboratory instruments used to conduct medical examination prior to the treatment of the individual.

The T.B Santorium in the city of Amritsar was established in the year 1936 with 255 beds dedicated to the treatment of patients with lungs and chest diseases. The hospital is reputed for the treatment of patients with tuberculosis. Two other eminent institutes dedicated in maintaining the Amritsar health care are the Punjab Government Dental College and Hospital, Amritsar and the Punjab Mental Hospital situated in the city.

Dedicated and eminent doctors and specialists of the city serve the hospitals in Amritsar. However, there is a stark gap between the ratio of doctors and patients in the city. A small number of nurses are present in the hospital to aid the doctors in the treatment of the patients. Although the region has not been able to bridge the wide ridge between the doctors and their patients, it has been able to ensure that no patient leaves without being tended with care.
