About Andhra Pradesh

There is much to say about Andhra Pradesh. Situated in the eastern side of South India is the state of Andhra Pradesh. It encompasses a total area of about 2, 75,068 Sq.Km and it is the third biggest state in India. The Bay of Bengal in the East, Karnataka in the West border the state of Andhra Pradesh. In south, Andhra Pradesh is bounded by Tamil Nadu and by the state of Maharashtra in the North. Andhra Pradesh lies between 77° and 84°40'East Longitude and 12°41' and 22°North Latitude.

As registered in the census of 1991, the total population in the state of Andhra Pradesh is 76,210,007. Out of the total population, the number male in the state is 38,286,738 while the total population of females is 37,923,269. The Literacy Rate in the state of Andhra Pradesh is 45.11 percent.

Hyderabad is the capital city of Andhra Pradesh. There are twenty-three districts in the state. The names of the districts are listed below in alphabetical order: -

Apart from the main rivers that are mostly perennial, there are other small rivers flowing through the state. The state is blessed with good agro-climatic conditions. The state of Andhra Pradesh is many hilly areas. These hills are an integrate part of Andhra Pradesh life and culture. The official language of the state is Telugu. Andhra Pradesh is also a hub of art and culture that has a rich tradition.
