Andhra Engineering Entrance Examination


Every year, Andhra Pradesh conducts a state-level common entrance examination known as Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET). EAMCET is arranged by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University for admission to first year Engineering degree courses in all engineering colleges affiliated to the University of Andhra , Kakatiya , Nagarjuna, Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural, JNTU, Osmania, Sri Krishnadevaraya , Sri Venkateswara and Regional Engineering College for Andhra Pradesh quota seats.

Eligibility for Andhra Engineering Entrance Examination

Only Indian Nationals who have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the academic year are eligible to apply for EAMCET Category A seats. The candidate should satisfy Local/Non-Local status requirement as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended. An Indian National or Non-Resident Indian is eligible for a Category B seat.

The left over seats are available to candidates from other states and Union Territories of India who have passed the qualifying examination and secured rank in AIEEE. Vacant seats, if any, are available for eligible candidates including those securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks or 60% in Group subjects in the qualifying examination.

Application Procedure for Andhra Engineering Entrance Examination

Application form together with the enclosures including the along with the Instruction Booklet can be had in person (not by post) on payment of Rs. 250/- (application cost, fees for entrance test, and towards Service charges for Post offices) in cash at all the head post offices and all e-seva centers within the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Filled in Application form should be submitted to the Regional Coordinator in person, or by post to reach within the due date, as mentioned in the Instruction Booklet or to the Convener, EAMCET (the respective year), SIT Building, Cellar portion, Kukatpally, Hyderabad - 500 085 by Registered Post. Online application forms need signature scanning and the photograph has to be placed at the appropriate place. Candidates needing assistance for submission online could approach the regional coordinator's office.

Examination

The EAMCET entrance test for engineering consists of multiple choice objective questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. EAMCET Entrance Examinees have the option of writing the examination in English or Telegu. The qualifying mark for Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is 40.

Admission through Andhra Engineering Entrance Examination

The admission is solely based on merit as per the marks obtained in EMACET followed by counseling.
15% seats for Scheduled Castes, 6% for Scheduled Tribes and 25% seats for other backward classes are reserved in each course in each Un-aided Professional Non-Minority Institution in Category A seats. Women candidates, Handicapped, Children of Armed Forces Personnel, National Cadet Corps and Sports quota also have their share of reservation. In the absence of students in such quota, the left over seats shall be filled by the candidates of General pool.

Seats available

All seats in Government and University colleges and 50% seats in the Private Colleges are offered free of cost.50 % of seats in private engineering colleges which include NRI candidates also are designated as paid seats.
