Andhra Pradesh has a very well co-ordinated, cohesive and systematic "Local Self Government" that plays a pivotal role in the balanced development of the urban and rural areas of the state. The "Local Self Government" implements the governmental and non- governmental projects to boast up further development of the state.
Municipal Administration
The Municipal Administration is headed by the Chief Minister who appoints many officials under him to assure the citizens a better quality of life. The Municipal Administration is responsible for maintenance and construction of proper roads, sanitation, public toilets, and keep a record of births and deaths in the urban areas.
Panchayats
The "Panchayats" are expected to perform a plethora of functions like employment generation among the villagers, construction and maintenance of roads, development of proper drainage system and many other development activities at the village level. Headed by the Chief Minister, the "Panchayats" have many gazetted officers who perform their duties with perfection.
The "Local Self Government" of Andhra Pradesh implements and executes the various decisions taken at the ministerial level for the convenience of the public in general both at the rural and urban areas of the state.
