Andhra Pradesh is an important center of tourism in India. Apart from being a place naturally beautiful, the state of Andhra Pradesh is a famous pilgrimage destination. Before traveling to Andhra Pradesh, one should have detailed knowledge about Andhra Pradesh Railways.

Andhra Pradesh has an enormous length of about 5085 km of railway track. The broad gauge railway route extends upto 4362 km approximately and the narrow gauge line is about 37 km long. The South Eastern railway and the Southern railway connect the other important parts of India to the state of Andhra Pradesh. Southern railway and South Eastern railway operate trains at regular intervals.

The capital city of the state of Andhra Pradesh is Hyderabad. It is also the headquarter of South Central Railway. All the major Indian cities are automatically linked to Hyderabad. As it is situated centrally, Hyderabad has a huge possibility of becoming a transportation hub of South Asia.

Apart from the railway station at the state capital Hyderabad, there are other railway stations in the state also. These are the Begumpet Station and the Secunderabad Station. The capital is connected to all the 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh.
