Imax Theatre


Imax Theatre is a new name in the world of Entertainment in Hyderabad. It is a giant screen theater that has been introduced in the capital city of Andhra Pradesh and for the first time in South India. It has been opened for the public on 23rd July, 2003.

The Imax Theatre in Hyderabad is a third of its kind in the whole India, one is in Mumbai and the other one is in Ahmedabad. It happens to be world's largest 3D Imax screen. The theater is very strategically located in the heart of the city. This project has been a part of the Buddha Purnima project. The project is also an outcome of the initiative of the tourism department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. With the inauguration of this theater, it has become a part of the league of 225 Imax Theater that are spread across the 30 countries.

The technology of Imax, an abbreviation for Eye Max or the Maximum View for Eye has been brought from the West to change the face of Indian cinema. Viewing movies in the Imax film format is truly an experience.

The Imax Theater in Hyderabad has world's most powerful projector. The projector has a capacity to beam over a screen measuring 29 meter in width and 21.93 meter in height. The complete digital experience is achieved through the technology of surround sound system. The Imax Theatre has the capacity of holding 635 audiences. The price of the ticket in the theater has been fixed at a flat rate of rupees 60 and 125.
