Sammakka Saralamma Temple- Warangal is one of the oldest Tribal temples of Andhra Pradesh. It is famous for the celebration of the tribal Jathra. It is held in the dense forests of Medaram in Eturnagaram mandal in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh. Huge number of pilgrims visit the place to receive the grace of mother Goddesses Sri Sammakka and Saralamma.

Sammakka and Saralamma are two brave Girijan women, who laid their life in the battle agsinst the army of Kakatiyas ruler Prathaparudra. The holy jathra has been declared as the state fesytival by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the greatest Girijan festival observed once in two years. The festival starts on Magha Purnima and is celebrated for four days. The idol of the deity is not present permanently in the temple.

Sammakka Saralamma Temple- Warangal was constructed by the tribals of the region and Kakatiyans during the 12th Century. A 50-acre forest expanse would be used for the purpose, which is situated 110 km from the Warangal district headquarters on the banks of river. The jathara begins on Magha shuddha Purnima and continues for four days. Devotees have deep faith on the Goddesses Sammakka, Saralamma and believe that their desires are fulfilled by the Goddesses. They worship the Goddesses by offering Jaggery, calf, coconuts and cash donations etc. Both men and women dress up in their best and many of them smear turmeric during the jathara. The tribal youths, celebrate the festival enthusiastically, they dance to the music of the drums at the the Sammakka Sarakka "gaddhelu'' (platform).
