Soil Conservation in Arunachal Pradesh is a major concern for the State Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The topography of Arunachal Pradesh is prone to erosion, attrition and abrasion; therefore, soil conservation is major concern in the area.

The undulating topography of Arunachal Pradesh is adorned with many winding rivers. When these rivers flows through the territory of Arunachal Pradesh, the valley along the rivers get eroded due to their great speed. As a result, river bank erosion, landslides, gullies, etc. are common in the territory of Arunachal Pradesh. Furthermore, some portions of Arunachal Pradesh are marked by marshy lands, which does not help the prospects of agriculture in Arunachal Pradesh.

As a result, the department of Land Development, Land Reclamation and Land Protection have taken adequate measure to improve the quality of the soil in Arunachal Pradesh. This endeavor of the administration towards the soil conservation of Arunachal Pradesh is aided towards improving the prospects of agriculture in Arunachal Pradesh.

Under the soil conservation at Arunachal Pradesh, many lands deemed as the unfertile land are brought under cultivation through land leveling and bunding. Moreover, terrace farming is also introduced as a result of this program in Arunachal Pradesh, in order to wean the inhabitants from their age-old practice of jhum cultivation.

Therefore, we can see that the soil conservation in Arunachal Pradesh is a major program run by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to improve the prospects of agriculture in the territory.
