Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh


Chief Minister in Arunachal Pradesh as in all other states of the country is elected through a general election. The candidate scoring maximum votes in the election is appointed as the Chief Minister of the state.

The office of the Chief Minister in Arunachal Pradesh is held for a term of 5 years; but, there is a provision for re-election. The Chief Minister can nominate himself in the next general elections, owing to the feedback he gets from the general public.

Jarbom Gamlin is the 7th and the current Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He was born on 16 April 1961 in West Siang district at a place called Along. Gamlin Studied in a school in Assam and he did his graduation in Law from the Law Faculty of University of Delhi and even practiced law at Dibrugarh He has two wives; Shakuntala Doley Gamlin and Dr. Moter Jini Gamlin. He is father to two daughters and a son. He was preceded by Dorjee Khandu as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh who died in a chopper crash on 30th April 2011. Jarbom Gamlin assumed the office on 5th May, 2011.
