Council of Ministers in Arunachal Pradesh


The Council of Ministers in Arunachal Pradesh is a body of ministers who assists the Chief Minister in running the government machinery of Arunachal Pradesh. It is the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh who allocates the Members of the Council of Ministers in Arunachal Pradesh.

In Arunachal Pradesh, the Council of Ministers are nominated by the Governor of the State; but, it is noteworthy that the Governor selects the Council of Ministers on the advice of the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Council of Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh is a provision by the Constitution of India restricting the Chief Minister to turn autocratic. Therefore, although the Chief Minister is sovereign head of Arunachal Pradesh, s/he is answerable to the Council of Ministers. It is only by the assent of the Council of Ministers that the Chief Minister can adopt or dismiss any law.
