Composition of Arunachal Pradesh Legislature
There are a total of 60 members of state legislative assembly at Arunachal Pradesh. They are elected from the assembly constituencies spread over the 16 districts of the state. The leader of the house is Sri Dorjee Khandu. He is also the chief minister of the state and the leader of the ruling party. Along with the leader of the opposition, he oversees the functions of the state legislature. The functions of the Arunachal Pradesh MLAs is supervised by Sri Setong Sena, the speaker of the House.
Current Members of State Legislative Assembly in Arunachal Pradesh
The last state assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh was held in 2005. Indian National Congress was the winning party by winning 34 of the total 60 constituencies. It was also the only party to give candidates in all the 60 seats of Arunachal Pradesh state legislature. INC beat its nearest rival Bharatiya Janata Party with a huge margin, with BJP winning only nine seats.
