During the Nyethidow festival, Bhalukpong is alight with the festivities. A cacophony of people reverberates the whole valley of Bhalukpong during the festival in the month of March. In Arunachal Pradesh, Bhalukpong is a mesmerizing place which houses all the beautiful elements of nature. The wide valley, sparkling river, pure ambiance- all constitute the serenity of Bhalukpong in Arunachal Pradesh. In fact, the city of Bhalukpong at Arunachal Pradesh is known for picnicking and adventure tourism like rafting, trekking and hiking.
Besides the adventure sports, the tourist destinations in Bhalukpong also seem to be instrumental in driving the crowd towards the city. Some of the major destinations that deserve special mention are:
- Tipi Orchidarium - Tipi Orchidarium is situated in the West Kameng District, and is known for housing a wide range of orchids. As a matter of fact, the Tipi Orchidarium houses about 500 varities of orchids. At this site, one can also come across an orchid research that creates new hybrid of orchids using the latest biotechnology.
- Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary - Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in the West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh. The sanctuary, spread over an area of 862 square kilometers, houses some of the endangered species of animals such as Bengal tiger, great pied hornbill, white winged wood duck, etc. Among the other animals found in Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary are elephants, sambhar, gaurs, leopard, binturong, peacock pheasant, etc.
- Kaziranga National Park - Towards the south-east of Bhalukpong in Arunachal Pradesh, lies the Kaziranga National Park. The National Park is deemed by UNESCO as the world heritage site. The Kaziranga National Park is home to the one-horned rhinoceros.
Thus, as it is evident, Bhalukpong is one of the major cities of Arunachal Pradesh that seem to be the most favorite destination in Arunachal Pradesh tourism.
