The geographical location of East Siang is between 94º 42' and 95º 35' East latitudes and 27º 43' and 29º20' North longitudes. East Siang covers an area of 4005 sq km. The topography of East Siang is predominantly mountainous. It is one of the administrative districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The district headquarters of East Siang is located at Pasighat. East Siang shares its borders with West Siang, Dibang Valley and Assam.
East Siang of Arunachal Pradesh is one of the socially backward district of the state, deprived of most of the facilities of modern day life. Life at East Siang is replete with numerous challenges. First of all, the place is poverty-stricken. In fact, bulk of the population here are below poverty line. The position of women in the tribal society of East Siang is still one of dominated and tortured one. The educational facilities for children at East Siang is pathetic. The overall infrastructure of East Siang and the connectivity of the place is at stake even in this 21st century.
