Reh


It is the individuals who belong to the tribe regarded as Idus who celebrate this festival known as Reh. The sole aim for performing this propitious event known as Reh is to appease the mother Goddess ‘Nanyi Inyitara’. It has been conjectured that those who participate in this festival of Reh in Arunachal Pradesh, are the only ones who are blessed with a burly feeling of brotherhood and love.

But, it is fate, that only the ones who are dowered with the boon of wealth can take part in this holy festival known as Reh at Arunachal Pradesh. This fortunate event is flexibly feted in accordance with availability of ample quantities of fish in the streams. As a matter of fact, the occupants of the Talo, Dri villages and Amru celebrate Reh of Arunachal Pradesh in the months of June through to the month of August. In case of other tribes the festival of Reh across Arunachal Pradesh is celebrated during February through to the month of August. Most of the other tribes celebrate this in the month of February through to August.

The main event that is performed during this festival include the sacrifice of a hefty number of buffaloes. The tribal folks also present pigs and thick bundles of green stuff to their respective relatives.

According to custom, an individual who desires to celebrate this festival is supposed to accumulate pigs, mithuns and money at least one year in advance. A colossal amount of rice beer is also prepared which is known as ‘Yunyiphri’. This festival is feted for 6 days. The first day is called Andropo, the second day Eyanli, the third day is known as Lyili, the fourth day as Llyiromunyi and the fifth day as Aru-Go and the ultimate day is regarded as Etoanu.
