Sadinuktso


The Sadinuktso is among the major dance forms of Arunachal Pradesh. The Akas perform the Sadinuktso on several occasions like marriages, birth or any other form of celebration in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Akas of Arunachal Pradesh are known for their distinct way of living. In fact, the Akas are known for their distinct socio-cultural existence. Among the socio-cultural pattern of the Akas, the Sadinuktso of Arunachal Pradesh deserves a special mention.

The Sadinuktso in Arunachal Pradesh is a special kind of dance performed by the Akas of Arunachal Pradesh. The Akas are said to perform the Sadinuktso on various occasion that celebrates the vitality of life, viz. birth, marriage, anniversary, etc. Sadinuktso is dance that marks revelry and excitement.

In Arunachal Pradesh, Sadinuktso is performed both by men and women. The performers of Sadinuktso stand in a row before the dance; as the dance starts, each of the dancers dance and sway to the movement of the musical instruments. In fact, the boys and girls stand diagonally opposite to each other. Each of the members from the boys groups or the girls group comes forward, delivers their part and recede backward: the cycle continues until each of the participants have performed.

Furthermore, it is noteworthy in this context that the Sadinuktso at Arunachal Pradesh is devoid of any song, that is to say that the dance is accompanied by no song at all. Only the musical instruments are used to support the dance performances presented by the members of the Aka tribe of Arunachal Pradesh.
