Sherdukpens constitute a very small community among the tribes of Arunachal Predesh. This religion has a bent towards Mahayana Buddhism and magico-religious beliefs. They still believe in black magic and other occult practices.

The suitable climate of Arunachal Pradesh has provided them with the opportunity for good cultivation. Thus, agriculture has become a prime profession for them. This Sherdukpen Tribe community cultivate several seasonal vegetables at different times of the year, which earn good money for them.
Sherdukpens Arts and Crafts
The most striking feature of this tribe is seen in their silver crafting. Ornaments made of silver were once upon a time very popular among the Sherdukpens of Arunachal Pradesh. Most members of this tribe are very good silversmiths. Once upon a time silver crafting was very popular among them, and they still continue to make intricate beautiful silver ornaments.
Cane and bamboo are found in abundance in Arunachal Pradesh. Heavy rainfall and the climatic condition of this land has confirmed the abundance of cane and bamboo plants. All the tribes of Arunachal Pradesh have craftspersons who practice this art. They fashion the bamboos to make jewelery out of them. Some exclusive utensils are also made by using this cane and bamboos among which the cane chairs, baskets, cane racks, cane murrah, cane table are very popular. The Sherdukpens in Arunachal Pradesh are famous for their cane and bamboo craft.
The tribal women of Arunachal Pradesh have an heritage of weaving and all of them are traditionally good weavers. The Sherdukpen women use cotton and fiber for making shawls, bags, colorful carpets, and coats, but the use of wool and other animal hair is not common among them.
