The Singphos who inhabit the banks of the Noa Dehang river and Tengapani river are very religious in nature. They believe in Buddhism and follow the customs of this religion. Belief in spirits and ghosts form a very important part of their faith.
Due to the favorable climate of Arunachal Pradesh, Singphos have taken up agriculture as their prime profession. Though the blacksmith's craft is not very popular among the tribes of Arunachal Pradesh, yet a particular segment of the Singpho tribe does practice this art. The womenfolk of the Singphos are very good weavers. They have an excellent artistic sense and make wonderful cloths with limited materials. They produce some exclusive specimens of coats, shawls and carpets, which have gained immense popularity in the state and outside.
