Getting to Arunachal Pradesh does not pose a problem to the people who are interested to reach this adventure destination of India. One can reach Arunachal Pradesh from the rest of India by all the three major means of communication, that is, airways, railways and roadways.

If you want to travel to Arunachal Pradesh by air, then you have to avail the airport closest to this north-eastern state, which is located outside the state, in Lilabari. The airport at Lilabari is served with the services of the Vayudoot. Another airport is located at Tezpur, which operates regular flights between the metropolitan city of Kolkata and Tezpur.

The railway station situated nearby is the Harmuty railway station. This station is located close to Banderdewa. It is easily communicable from Itanagar and Naharlagun. The distance of this station from Itanagar is 33 kms and that from Naharlagun is 23 kms. Though this is the nearest station, it is not very convenient for a tour to Arunachal Pradesh. A better option is provided by the railway head located at North Lakhimpur in the state of Assam. This railhead is at a distance of only 60 kms from the city of Itanagar

Getting to Arunachal Pradesh is quite convenient via its roadways. The capital city of Itanagar is well connected by road to many important places in the neighboring states. The road distance between Itanagar and Shillong is 481 kms, Guwahati and Itanagar is 381 kms, Itanagar and Aizawal is 901 kms and Agartala and Itanagar is 980 kms.
