Arunachal Pradesh Rail

Arunachal Pradesh rail actually refers to the services associated with the rail services at Arunachal Pradesh. To travel to the north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh by rail, one has to depend on the rail services offered by the neighboring state of Assam. The connection of rail for Arunachal Pradesh is centered mainly in Assam. There are some railway stations convenient for use from different parts of the state.

To reach Tezu, one of the most important locations in the state, one can avail the railway station located at Tinsukia. The railway station most convenient for use from the place called Along is the Silapathar railway station.

If you want to go to Bomdila, a major tourist spot of the state, then it is most prudent to avail the rail services of the railway station located at Balipara. Pasighat is another very prominent place of interest in Arunachal Pradesh. To travel to this place, it is most convenient to halt at the station located at Ruksin.

The railway station closest to Arunachal Pradesh is located at a place known as Harmutty. This region is close to the Banderdewa region in Assam. This place is located at a distance of about 33 kms from Itanagar, which is the capital city, and 23 kms from Naharlagun, another prominent place in the state. Though the Harmutty railway station is the closest railway station from Arunachal Pradesh, it is not the most convenient one.

The most important Arunachal Pradesh rail connection is located at North Lakhimpur. It is more convenient for the tourists to avail the rail head situated at North Lakhimpur than the Harmutty railway station. North Lakhimpur is a part of the district of Lakhimpur in Assam. This region is located at a distance of 60 kms from Itanagar and 50 kms from Naharlagun.
