Arunachal Pradesh River Rafting

Arunachal Pradesh river rafting is one of the major sports in the state. The type of river rafting popular in Arunachal Pradesh is termed white water river rafting. The major rivers well known for river rafting at Arunachal Pradesh are Siang or Brahmaputra, Subansiri, Kayaking and Bhareli or Kameng.

Brahmaputra, one of the major rivers of Arunachal Pradesh, offers the scope for the most thrilling experience of river rafting in Arunachal Pradesh. There are two reasons for the popularity of the Brahmaputra river amongst the rafters.

This river can be termed a rafter's delight as it offers a wide spectrum of natural beauty. Starting from mountains and hills to the jungles- the place offers a variety of topography. The jungles range from the ones at the higher regions to the ones at the lower regions, that is, the foothill region. These forests vary not only in the type of region they thrive in, but also in the kind of trees they contain. They vary from alpine forests to sub-tropical forests.

The more significant reason for its suitability for Arunachal Pradesh rafting is the high water content of the river. As many as five rivers, namely Lohit, Subansiri, Tirap, Kameng and Siang drain their waters into the Brahmaputra river.

The second reason for choosing the Brahmaputra for river rafting within Arunachal Pradesh are the challenges that it offers to an experienced rafter. The Brahmaputra river is not at all a calm river and it makes its way through the rugged surface of the north-eastern Himalayan state of Arunachal Pradesh.
