In the Northeastern region of India, Assam schools occupy an important position. In the state of Assam Guwahati has become a major destination for education because of its world-class schools. Assam schools are either affiliated to Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations of Delhi, Assam Board of School Education, or Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board.
