governor of Assam is an important person in the Assam Executive. The present governor of the state is Ajai Singh. He has completed M.Sc in Defence Studies. He has an extensive work experience. He has received a number of honorary awards. Of which the award of Param Vishist Seva Medal is worth mentioning. It is the a very distinguished award given in India for any service.

Executive of Assam is the Chief Minister of the state. The
Chief Minister of Assam is Mr. Tarun Gogoi. He is a highly educated man and he has taken up his career as a politician and a lawyer. He has gathered experience in his career as a politician. He has occupied numerous position at different time. He is affiliated to the Indian National Congress ( I ). Gogoi was elected on 11th May of 2006.
The
Council of Ministers of Assam is another important division in the Assam Executive. The Chief Minister occupies a distinct position in the Council of Ministers. There are nineteen cabinet ministers in Assam. They have been assigned their respective departments. There is one who has been assigned with independent charge of the state of Assam.
