The State Constituencies of Assam is a perfect mix of the parliamentary constituencies and the assembly constituencies that ward in conjunction to aid the state's governance. Assam has bagged 14 seats in the Lok Sabha that are represented by the elected members from its parliamentary constituencies. To simplify the administration process, the state is further split into126 assembly constituencies.
A portion of the total number of seats is reserved for the minority as well as the scheduled caste and scheduled tribes.
The assembly constituencies of the northeast frontier of Assam are 126 in number. The are formed on the basis of the total available area. The party that gets the majority of the total votes amongst all the assembly constituencies is invited to form the government and spearhead the administration for a span of 5 years before the next elections are held.
The state constituencies of Assam are bifurcated into the politically important parliamentary and assembly constituencies that are instrumental in the formation of a democratic government.
