State Pin Code


The Pin Code or the Postal Index Code helps to locate the accurate and exact region of the state. Most of the states of India have a six digit pin code. However there are some states that have a eight digit pin code. All the numbers of a particular pin code indicate the region, sub region and the particular post office of the sub region. The system of pin code helps one to determine the proper location of a particular place and hence deliver important documents by post with much ease and convenience.

The sub region or the particular postal circle is determined by the two foremost digits of the pin code. The next three digits together constitutes the revenue or the sorting district, while the rest of the digits refer to the particular post office where the document is to be delivered.
