Assam Radio

Assam Radio is serving the same purpose as the other radio stations all over the country. Radio is such a helpful medium of mass communication. It reaches to those remote parts of Assam where newspaper does not reach.

Assamese is the major regional language in the state of Assam and it is obvious that the Assam radio stations broadcast the programs in Assamese language. Apart from Assamese programs there are other programs that are broadcasted in English and other languages.

The various Assam radiobroadcasting stations that serve the Assamese people are:

There are a large number of radio relay stations in the state of Assam. These are as follows:

• All India Radio Dhubri, also known as AIR Dhubri or Akashvani Dhubri is located at Dhu-bri. The frequency of the station is 103.3 Mega Hertz
  
  
• All India Radio Dibrugarh or AIR Dibrugarh is also known as Akashvani Dibrugarh is lo-cated at Malakhubasa. Its frequency is 567 Kilo Hertz.
  
  
• All India Radio Diphu, which is also known as AIR Diphu or Akashvani Diphu is situated in the District of Kabri Anglong. Its frequency is 1485 Kilo Hertz.
  
  
• All India Radio Haflong or AIR Haflong is also known as Akashvani Haflong is located in Haflong. It has the frequency of 100.2 Mega Hertz
  
  
• All India Radio Jorhat is also known as AIR Jorhat or Akashvani Jorhat is located in Jorhat. 103.4 Mega Hertz is its frequency.
  
  
• All India Radio Kokrajhar is also famous as AIR Kokrajhar or Akashvani Kokrajhar is lo-cated in Kokrajhor. Its frequency is of 1512 Kilo Hertz.
