Manas


The natural beauty of Manas is simply breathtaking. It is the one and the only Tiger Project in the state of Assam. A National Park that is extremely beautiful, the Manas National Park is a tourist place that that Assam is proud to have as an important part of the state. Manas National Park has been named after the graceful Manas River, which flows by the side of it.

Situated at the Himalayan foothills, the sanctuary of rare wildlife at Manas is the best choice for any ardent nature and wildlife lover. It encompasses an area of about five hundred and nineteen square kilometers. The core area of the park is an area of about three hundred and sixty square kilometers. It forms a part of the district of Barpeta.

Although Manas National Park is one of the nine Tiger Projects in entire India, one will find other animals too. A good many numbers of animals of rare species are found here. A list of the animals found in Manas will make anybody thrilled with excitement:
