Arunachal Pradesh is an agrarian state located in Northeast India with Itanagar as its capital. It is popularly known as the 'land of rising sun' because sun`s rays first fall on this state. It shares its border with several northeastern states like Assam, Nagaland, Myanmar and Bhutan. The provisional Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh was formed during 1975 to 1978. Arunachal Pradesh was given statehood on 20th February 1987 and the first state assembly elections were held in 1990. In the upcoming legislative assembly elections 139 candidates from various parties and 14 independent candidates will be in fray. Currently, the state has 60 member assembly for which a voter turnout of 7, 50,575 people is expected on the poll day.

2004 Assembly Elections

 

The fourth legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh was constituted in October 2004.
