Manipur is one of the five Indian states where elections are due to be held in the year 2012. The Manipur General Elections will see Okram Ibobi Singh' led Indian National Congress trying to retain its hold in Manipur.
The elections will be held in the state in the month of January as the term of the current Legislative Assembly of Manipur will end on 15th march 2012. Sufficient arrangements are being made to ensure that the elections remain a fair process and no fraud is practiced while people of the state elect their preferred candidates.
