Bhubaneswar Development

Bhubaneswar development is necessary for both the growth of the city and its people. Bhubaneswar has been called the 'city of temples' because of the presence of a large number of beautiful temples there. The architecture of all these temples are a proof to the rest of the world that Bhubaneswar has a rich artistic background which it still inherits. This page gives you a brief on Bhubaneshwar development.

The Orissa Government under Orissa Technology Mission initiated a proposal for further progress of Bhubaneswar. After some rounds of discussion, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed as per which 'The Housing and Urban Development Department' of Orissa Government handed the job of preparing 'Perspective Plan vision-2030' and 'Comprehensive Development Plan for Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Urban Complex' to the Department of Architecture and Regional Planning of IIT Kharagpur to make Bhubaneswar a world class urban center with all the major IT and Retail outlets there. This was done by and large to contribute to the Bhubaneswar development.

In the first step to Bhubaneswar development, transport and communication development is a foremost requirement, so Hawkers and road side vendors were removed from the pavements and were given a separate space to carry on their trade. Trees were planted alongside the roads to cover the city with green.

Now Bhubaneswar has developed and transformed its image of a pilgrimage city and has got companies like Satyam, Infosys and Wipro in the IT sector. The Orissa Government too has learnt the importance of IT and has started e- governance. An IT park is already there. More is to come in the future, so we have to just wait and watch till then.
