Orissa Engineering College (OEC) is the first private engineering college in Orissa which was set up in 1986. The foundation was laid by Shri Kamini Kanta Patnaik. Orissa Engineering College is maintained by Nabajyoti Charitable Trust.
Orissa Engineering College is nationally accredited by the National Board of Accreditation for its Electronics and Telecommunications, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Departments. Till 2006 Orissa Engineering College was affiliated to Utkal University but from 2007 it is working in affiliation with Biju Patnaik University of Technology.

For admission in the undergraduate programmes of Orissa Engineering College , your basic qualification must be 10+2 in science stream with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Any one who has cleared the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by Biju Patnaik University of Technology or the entrance examination of Orissa Private Engineering College Association, can apply in Orissa Engineering College for admission.
