Forestry and wildlife is the practice of studying and managing forests and wild animals for further economical use. Forestry of Bihar have contributed wood and various other raw materials of export quality which has made the state as well as the country earn good revenue.
Out of the total land area, 32808.47 square kilometers of land in Bihar falls under the protected forest area cover. Forestry and wildlife cannot exist separately. Wildlife can survive only in the forest area where it gets the natural environment.
The areas which mainly contribute to the state economy through its forestry and wildlife of Bihar are West Champaran, some parts of Darbhanga, Jamui, Nalanda and Rohtas.
The protected areas of forestry and wildlife in Bihar have been clubbed into various sanctuaries, botanical gardens or national parks named as follows :
