Chief Minister
The chief minister of Bihar is Nitish Kumar. He has become the chief minister of Bihar twice - once in 2000 and again in 2005. By profession, he is an agriculturist as well as an engineer. He is a successful political and social worker. He is the founder-member of Samata Party Movement. He has been an activist of JP Movement from 1974 to 1977. The chief minister was twice detained - under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA) in 1974 and during the time of emergency in 1975.
