Rajasthan Agricultural University

Rajasthan Agricultural University, also known as the College of Agriculture, Bikaner is one of the many colleges under the aegis of the Rajasthan Agricultural University (RAU). The college opened its doors in the year 1988 when the agricultural department of the Dungar College was transferred to the RAU.

In India, agriculture is a primary sector of the economy and happens to be a means of subsistence of the majority of the populace. In order to counter the problems associated with agriculture and irrigation in the arid terrains of northwest India, the enterprising faculty of the Dungar College, endeavored to set up an agricultural college for women. The college's mission was to look into all the current problems and try to seek sustainable remedial measures and also delve into the depths of research and subsequently mark the zenith of technological advancement.

The Rajasthan Agricultural College offers a four year long Bachelors degree and a Masters degree that stretches across a span of 2 years. Recently, the college has also started to offer specialized Ph. D programs with extensive research facilities as well as state of the art infrastructure. The agricultural college offers courses in the following disciplines:
  • Soil Science
  • Agronomy
