Calangute Beach

Calangute is also known as the ‘Queen of Beaches’. Calangute Beach is situated about 15 kilometers from Panaji. It is one of the popular beaches in Goa, which lies on the shores of the Arabian Sea. The nearest airport to the beach is Dabolim. Karmali is the nearest railway station to Calangute, situated about 14 kilometers away. The beach was discovered in 1960s by the hippies. It is said that Baga Beach is an extension of Calangute beach, as it is really difficult to point out where one beach ends and the other originates.
