12th World Lakes Conference is an extraordinary event focusing on lake water preservation.
Jaipur will host this bi-annual conference, starting from 28th October.
Titled as Taal 2007 the theme will be "Conserving Lakes and Wetlands for Future". The word 'Taal' stands for lakes as in the Indian Language.
The main objective of the conference is to find and implement new and better alternatives to manage the precious lake water resources through out the world.
12th World Lakes Conference is going to be the latest edition of the series of conferences since its inception in 1985.
The 12th World Lakes Conference will be organized by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India, New Delhi under the aegis of ILEC or International Lake Environment Committee Foundation, Japan.
The main topics to be discussed in the conference will revolve around lakes and inland wetlands. The basic structure of the 12th World Lakes Conference is given below:-

Apart from the discussions and seminars, there will be some fabulous exhibitions on instruments, scientific literature and technology for lakes and water reservoirs.
