Jhansi Festival

Jhansi Festival, celebrated from the 3rd to the 7th of November, at Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, aims at showcasing the art, crafts and culture of the town. Lasting for about a week, the Jhansi Utsav is the perfect place to be if you are a poetry lover.

The place is credited for giving birth to some of our renowned poets, which have become formidable names in the field of literature.

A huge range of cultural programs is arranged during the festival that includes folk songs, dramas, dances and mushairas. The ghazals presented here is the must see section of the Jhansi Mahotsav.

Along with the cultural aspect of it, the Jhansi Festival Uttar Pradesh, also promotes 'Ayurveda', the Indian specialty in the field of medical science, which is acclaimed worldwide. Ayurveda for general well-being and as a system of healing are popularized in the fair. The popularity of Ayurveda in the festival can be gauged from the fact that it is also known as 'Ayurveda Jhansi Mahotsav'.

Other attractions of the fair are the handicraft fair and the traditional folk performances by the local artists. This is the event that attracts the largest number of spectators. The festival is a great medium for the promotion of tourism and local art of the place.
