Chhattisgarh is located in the central part of India. The economy of the state is based on agriculture and industries. The state has 41, 216 small-scale industries with an investment of Rs. 305.58 crore employing 1,53, 229 persons. There are 190 heavy industries investing Rs.2,694.66 crore employing 50,802 persons. Most of the industries are based on forest products. There are a number of Commissions in Chhattisgarh that provide significant advisory, regulatory, policy-making services to the Government of Chhattisgarh. There are two Chhattisgarh Commissions, which are as follows:
Chhattisgarh Public Service
Commission Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission conducts examinations for the recruitment of employees in various Government department like Agriculture, Cooperation, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Department, Rural Industries Department, Tourism Department, Directorate of Institutional Finance (DIF), Finance Department, Public Works Department (PWD), Forest Department, General Administration Department (IAS Establishment), Health and Family Welfare Department, Jail Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Women and Child Development Department. Some of the other responsibilities of the commission are to advice the state Government on transfers, appointments, promotions and disciplinary matters related to the Government employees.
Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC)
The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) has been constituted by the Government of Chhattisgarh. The Commission regulates and promotes policies in the power sector of Chhattisgarh. It takes necessary steps for the development of power sector in Chhattisgarh by increasing investment in this sector. The objective of the Commission is to earn revenues for the state and establish it as the power hub of India.
