With the inauguration of the Konkan railways, reaching Goa by rail has become easier. Goa is located between Mumbai and Trivandum in Kerala, where the Konkan railway line begins and ends respectively.
Besides the Konkan railways, the South Western Railways runs a number of trains under Goa Railway Network which allows the tourists to reach Goa by rail from a number of Locations.
There are a number of trains that connect these important cities to Goa and thus makes it easier for tourists to reach Goa by rail. Goa is also connected to the cities of Thiruvananthapuram, Mangalore, Ahmedabad, Cochin etc.
There are a number of railway stations in Goa which allows tourists to reach any part of Goa by rail.
The stations in Goa include, Canacona, Karmali, Thivim, Margao, Vasco da Gama, Pernem and Margo. Margo and Vasco da Gama are the two most important stations of Goa and the former is also the largest railway station of the state of Goa.
