Goa Weather

A part of the Konkan belt on the Western coast of India, Goa weather is very apparently a coastal one. Except in the monsoon months, Weather conditions in Goa is usually a temperate one with warm and humid climate in most part of the year. With the Western ghats in the backdrop, Goa weather experiences no extreme climate and there is no distinct dividing line between one season and the other.

Goa weather is the hottest in the month of May and the temperature rises to almost 35 degree centigrades to 40 degree centigrades. In the months that precede the monsoon season in Goa, the humidity level shoots up and the sky gets covered with clouds. Then comes in the most prominent season of Goa, Monsoon which lasts from the month of June to the month of September.

The South West Monsoon passes over Goa and causes a period of heavy rainfall annually. Goa climate in the monsoon months is often accompanied by thunder storms and heavy showers. The average rainfall received by Goa is around 250 meters to 300 meters. The rains offer a pleasant respite from the prolonged period of hot and dry weather that precedes it.

As the monsoon months come to an end, Goa weather takes a turn with cloudless skies, calm sea and pleasantly warm days. This cool season in Goa weather stretches from the middle of the month of December to the month of February and the temperature during this period is approximately 20 degree centigrades.
