Founder of the non-profit think tank TERI, RK Pachauri has been found guilty of outraging modestry of women, stalking and criminal intimidation. Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet against him in lieu of a sexual harassment case filed by Pachauri’s former colleague. The charge sheet has over 1,400 pages and has been filed in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Shivani Chauhan.
A Delhi University Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) student has bagged the highest-ever international pay package of Rs. 1.02 crore. In FMS, the highest domestic pay package stood at Rs. 66 lakh per annum with the average pay package this year being Rs. 20.5 lakh. All in all, FMS saw a 30% increase in the number of finance roles offered to students this year as compared to the previous year.

After being announced last month during the MWC 2016 trade show, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is ready to get launched in India on 15 March 2016. The smartphone has a 5-inch IPS LCD full-HD display (1080x1920 pixels) and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 quad-core SoC with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Additionally, it also houses a 13-megapixel rear-camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor.
Delhi has become the first state in India to launch the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine as the public health programme for school children. Girls studying in Class VI in all government schools would be targeted in the first year with the programme being completed in the current academic year over two phases.
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has retained world’s number one position for the second consecutive year in 25-40 Million Passengers Per Annum (MPPA) category. In 2007, the airport’s Airport Service Quality (ASQ) ranking was 101 in the world, followed by ranking of number 2 till 2013 and finally reaching the number one spot in 2014. IGI Airport has retained the rank in 2015 with a score of 4.96 in ASQ survey on a scale of 1 to 5.
Today, India will be playing their third match of the Asia Cup 2016 against Sri Lanka. After having won the previous two matches, India will qualify for the final by winning today’s game. Reliance Digital has officially launched the Lyf-branded smartphone Flame 1 along with a new Lyf Wind 6 smartphone. While Lyf Flame 1 is priced at Rs. 6,490, the Lyf Wind 6 can be purchased by paying a sum of Rs. 7,090. Both the smartphones are available at the Reliance Digital website, plus you can purchase the handsets from the company’s brick and mortar outlets as well. Both Lyf Flame 1 and Lyf Wind 6 support 4G LTE bands in India- FDD Band 3(1800 MHz) and TDD Band 40(2300MHz).
As an attempt to meet its water demand post the heavy damage to the Munak Canal during the Jat quota stir and high pollution levels in the Yamuna, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has decided to look at the multiple options that can be utilized for keeping all water treatment plants up and running. Dwarka will have to remain without piped water till the Munak Canal is not being repaired completely and it would take at least till 8 March for the damaged section to be fully functional.
Today, the BSE mid-cap index advanced 1 per cent along with the small-cap index wich surged 1.2 per cent. On the mid-cap end, IDBI Bank became the top gainer with a gain of 3.42 per cent to close at Rs. 60.45. Other gainers include Crompton Greaves, Bank of India, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Sun TV Network, NALCO, Berger Paints, Yes Bank- each recording a gain of 2.2-3 per cent.
