Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who is viewed as a prime ministerial candidate by many in BJP captured the limelight at the national council meeting in New Delhi. President Rajnath Singh told the party members to be prepared for early Lok Sabha polls.Rajnath Singh got the authorization of the national executive to reorganize the parliamentary board, thus paving the way for induction of Modi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in BJP's topmost decision-making body. At the meeting Modi received a standing ovation as Rajnath Singh garlanded him amid loud applause from the people which also included senior party leaders,he was also referred as a "popular chief minister". Rajnath Singh in the meeting also stated that 2013 was crucial for BJP and the Lok Sabha elections may also take place anytime.
An earthquake of moderate intensity occurred in parts of northeast India and Bangladesh on Saturday. As per district administrations in Tripura and southern Assam, there were no loss of life or damage to property. An India Meteorological Department official in Agartala informed that the quake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale happened at 7am. The epicentre was in Karimganj (southern Assam), bordering Bangladesh. The jolts were felt in many parts of eastern Bangladesh, along with Tripura and southern Assam. The Geological Survey of India had informed earlier that the northeastern region may experience a major earthquake, as the region, belonged to Zone V, the sixth-worst quake-prone belt in the world.
Goa industry is negotiating with the government so that a logistics hub is set up in the state and would serve the north Karnataka and southern Maharashtra. After the discussion with the Goa Industries Minister the Goa Chamber for Commerce and Industries president stated that the minister has asked for a specific proposal. The GCCI feels Goa has the potential to set up a logistics hub and it would serve as an industrial platform. Medium and small industries treat this as an industrial activity and the industry wanted the government to recognize its importance.
The Indian football team started the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers 2013 by a win over Chinese Taipei 2-1 in their first match. Jewel Raja Shaikh was instrumental for taking the lead in the 40th minute while substitute Robin Singh headed a winning goal in the 91st minute after Lee Tai Lin had equalised for Chinese Taipei in the 54th minute. Taipei put up a defensive strategy and relied on counters and took the lead in the 11th minute but Subrata Paul was alert to save a Chen Yi Wei freekick from outside the box.
Actor Raj Kumar Yadav, who essayed the role of Govind in "Kai Po Che", said he was earlier rejected for the specified role and got selected when casting director Mukesh Chhabra came on board. He informed that there was a different casting director when the movie was with Excel Entertainment and then he was rejected. When Mukesh Chhabra came he was provided with the list of people who were auditioned and were not to be called. But he believed that Raj Kumar could play the role of Govind and that was a morale booster for him.

Facebook Inc. informed about its agreement with Microsoft Corp. to acquire its Atlas Advertiser Suite. This will enable marketers and agencies to utilize more out of their online advertising. Facebook did not reveal the terms of the deal. Atlas includes a set of tools that would enable companies select the placement of their ads on web sites and assess their effectiveness. This initiative is part of Facebook's endeavor to battle Google for market share in the online display-ad business. Facebook stated, "If marketers and agencies can get a holistic view of campaign performance, they will be able to do a much better job of making sure the right messages get in front of the right people at the right time. Atlas has built capabilities that allow for this kind of measurement."
