Indian President Pranab Mukherjee who is on a visit to Bangladesh met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday and gave assurance about India's commitment to "a fair, reasonable solution" regarding sharing of Teesta waters. He also stated that the discussions with different stakeholders would be completed soon. President also had a "restricted level" one-on-one discussion for 30 minutes with Hasina in the evening when the debatable Teesta agreement and the 1974 Land Boundary Agreement also featured in it. Indian Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai told to the media that the presidential visit was "not designed for negotiations on specific issues", but the two crucial issues were part of the discussions.The president informed the Bangladesh prime minister that "discussions have to be held with all stakeholders in India", that includes West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who is against the proposed water sharing agreement on the grounds that it would affect West Bengal.
Pune Municipal Corporation's (PMC) property tax department has done a recovery of Rs.560 crore between April 2012 and February 2013 of fiscal 2012-13. As per the officials this has been the first time that the civic body was able to recover so much tax within an year that is till Feb 28 and yet to get another Rs.500 crore as property tax.The department deployed special squads for this purpose this year and also attached properties of those who after continuous reminders had not paid their taxes.Discounts were also offered to those who paid their property taxes in the first two months. 10 percent discount was offered if the tax was Rs.25,000 or less, while a 5 percent discount was there if the amount was more than Rs.25,000 for those who pay their taxes before May 31. There are as many as six lakh residential properties and 75,000 non-residential properties within Pune apart from 24,000 open plots in the city, which also come under the jurisdiction of the Pune Municipal Corporation.
India at the end of the second day's play was at 311/1, with a 74-run first innings lead in the second cricket Test match against Australia here at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal on Sunday. Virender Sehwag (6) went early in the fifth over of the day while Murali Vijay (129 not out)and Cheteshwar Pujara (162 not out) made a 294-run partnership before stumps were drawn. The credit goes to Indian spinners who have spun magic which their Australian counterparts failed to do. Xavier Doherty (0/85) and Glenn Maxwell (0/55) couldn't do much against the powerful Indian batting. Pujara and Vijay, who scored their second and fourth Test hundreds, were prominent features of the match.
Filmmaker Subash Kapoor, will be directing the third instalment of "Munnabhai" franchise and the movie will release early next year as Kapoor is now busy with 'Jolly LLB' and after the film's release, then the scripting for 'Munnabhai' will begin. The first two films - "Munnabhai M.B.B.S." and "Lage Raho Munna Bhai", directed by Rajkumar Hirani, depicted the social satires with humour. Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani with their exemplary performances made the movies a big hits in 2003 and 2006 respectively. Kapoor's "Jolly LLB." also had Arshad, Boman along with Amrita Rao in the cast. Infused with humor, the film is a satire on the country's legal system and will release on March 15.

In an initiative to bring the Budget 2013-14 to the people, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram will answer questions on its proposals on Monday in a multi-party online video conference on Google+ Hangout. This is the first time when a cabinet minister will use the internet to interact with citizens and reply to queries on the union budget as per a finance ministry release. Chidambaram will answer to netizens' questions on Budget 2013-14 at 8 p.m. on Monday. The group of panelists also includes Jahangir Aziz, senior Asia economist and India chief economist at JP Morgan; Anand Mahindra, CMD Mahindra & Mahindra; Amit Singhal, senior vice-president, Google Inc. and Manish Chokhani, CEO, Axis Capital. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had a Google Hangout to interact with voters during his election campaign last year. Citizens will submit their questions before the hangout starts by video upload, by commenting on the YouTube channel or through the Google India Page as well as through tagging text or a video with the hashtag #askthefm.
