Subrata Roy, the Sahara group chief urged before the Supreme Court that they be given more time. In fact he used the words “ with folded hands” in his request and specified that all the directions of the Supreme Court will be adhered to. But the court has asked him to stay in custody till the case’s next hearing. Sahara has been directed by the court to do the payment to the investors in villages and towns. Sahara made an offer wherein it would sell different properties for raising the fund for the payment but this was rejected by the apex court. Roy had asked for a reprieve of 3-4 months. SEBI has stated that the properties were overpriced and will not get the required Rs 20,000 crore needed to refund investors whereas Sahara has contended it had paid most of the money and Rs 5000 crore was left to be paid. SEBI has also stated it was difficult for it to assess huge amount of paper Sahara has sent as proof to refund the investors. When Roy appeared in the court today he was sprayed with ink by a person who called him a robber as well.
A court in Delhi awarded bail to ex-Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda, who is accused in the case of suicide of airhostess. Today’s date was finalized last week for hearing when the submissions by the Delhi Police and Kanda’s counsel were completed. Delhi police had contended that Kanda should not be granted the bail as he may be influencing witnesses and tampering with the evidence. The public prosecutor had also specified that Kanda submitted false documents to show that his wide was being treated at a government run hospital to request for bail. This was opposed by Kanda’s counsel and he asked the court to do the verification from the hospital. Kanda had submitted the bail application on February 17. He had also specified that he had served the jail term for 18 months and the investigation in the case was also completed. His counsel had also stated that charges of sexual exploitation against him were removed by the Delhi High Court. The trial on this case started on May 27, 2013. Eight witnesses statement was recorded. There are charges on Chadha and Kanda for abetting the suicide of the former air hostess working in MDLR airlines owned by Kanda. The 23 year old air hostess was discovered dead on August 05, 2012. She had written in her suicide note that she was ending her life due to harassment by Kanda and Chadha.
Mulayam Singh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party chief chose a public platform to send a warning to his son , the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh was embarrassed when he was reprimanded publicly. Mulayam stated in a strict tone that the Chief Minister was surrounded by sycophants and bureaucrats who were self centered. He also stated that those who did not adhere to the words of the well wishers found themselves in trouble. He also specified this was not doing good to his image. This was not the first time Akhilesh had to hear harsh words of his father. Earlier two times he had to listen to it for his supposed non-performance. As per reports Mulayam is not to happy with the state of things and has apprehension that the party may perform badly in the Lok Sabha elections.
Reliance Jio Infocomm will be using Bharti Infratel’s telecom tower infrastructure for its services launch in India. This was specified by the company after an agreement was inked by the two firms which follows the specifications of the earlier arrangement with Bharti Airtel so that there is no duplication in infrastructure. Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of RIL has the credit of being the 1st telecom operator to have pan-India Unified Licence. The company stated with this agreement the existing customers will be benefited as well due to lower rentals and energy costs. Bharti Infratel is engaged in ownership, deployment and deploys and management of telecom towers and communication structures for different mobile operators.
The International Boxing Association (AIBA) has specified the suspension of Indian Boxing Federation will remain in vogue till there are honest officials in it for carrying on its work.The International Boxing Association's decision has shocked the Indian Boxing Federation and its President Abhishek Matoria has stated that it was not able to find login in the "unfair" decision and the matter will be taken up with IOA now. On the other hand the AIBA president Ching-Kuo Wu said it was sad to note the ban had to be continued as India was an "important member". The suspension on Indian Boxing Federation has been there since December 2012 for failure in complying with the right procedures in the polls where the former president Abhay Singh Chautala was made the chairman of the body. His election as the president of the IOA had also resulted in its suspension by the IOC during the same time. Suspension on IOA was removed last month when a new body of officials was elected.

Android was the leader in tablets' sale in 2013, as it captured 62% of the market, as per Gartner Inc., the research firm. 195.4 million units was sold worldwide in 2013 which was a 68% rise than 2012. The tablet segment was though pioneered by Apple. In 2013 there was number of Android tablets within the buying capacity of the consumers. Now in 2014 the focus would be on enhancing the device experience, emphasizing on meaningful technology and so on. Apple’s share in the market dipped by 16.8% as people were looking more for low cost devices and it remained more concentrated among the high end users. The tablets of Microsoft stayed at the lower rung. If analyzed from the vendor perspective Apple leads with 38% share while Samsung was at 19%, though it registered a 336% growth. Lenovo’s sales grew by 198% though it stayed at number five with little more than 3% market share.
