Congress livid at Vadra being targeted by Team Kejriwal

India Against Corruption (IAC) has leveled some serious charges of corruption in the property deals done by Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law Robert Vadra and this has led to vehement refusals from both Congress and the central government. Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan have stated Vadra bought property at places like Gurgaon at much less than market rates and then sold them for substantial profits. They have also questioned the logic of DLF providing INR 65 crore in unsecured loan to Vadra. Kejriwal has also come up with scanned copies as proofs of his claim alleging a 600 percent growth in 3 years. Robert Vadra, is however yet to respond to these claims.

Bhushan stated that according to the balance sheets of 5 companies established by Vadra and his mother, their aggregate share capital is INR 50 lakh, According to him this amount raises some critical questions regarding the property purchasing spree of Vadra. IAC states that all the property transfers were done in Delhi, Rajasthan, and Haryana where Congress is the ruling party. Veteran leaders and ministers in Congress have stated that the allegations are baseless. They have also said that IAC is basically a sister team of BJP and that they are acting in an unsavory manner.

Kejriwal’s questions have been echoed by BJP as well and the state governments of Delhi and Haryana have denied any participation in the property deals of Vadra.
