Shiv Sena MPs Surround Aviation Minister after Lok Sabha was Adjourned
As per reports, a three-member committee has been set up by Delhi's former lieutenant-governor Najeeb Jung in order to examine the decisions that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has taken till date.
Former Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) V K Shunglu is the head of the committee and 404 files of the Arvind Kejriwal-led government have already been reviewed. The committee has alleged that there were irregularities with several appointments of the government.
The committee has raised questions on appointment of Soumya Jain, Nikunj Agarwal and cabinet decision of allotting government-owned 206 Rouse Avenue bungalow as its office to the AAP.
As per reports, Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju was surrounded by Shiv Sena MPs after Speaker Sumitra Mahajan briefly adjourned the Lok Sabha on Thursday. Since Raju refused to intervene in the flight ban which was imposed by Air India along with six other airlines against Osmanabad MP Ravindra Gaikwad, the Sena MPs were upset.
Raju was shielded by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister S S Ahluwalia from the Sena MPs. Later a meeting was held between the Speaker and Rajnath, Gajapathi Raju and Sena MPs. After the House was reconvened, Rajnath said Gajapthi Raju will be holding a meeting with all the airlines stakeholders involved and the matter will be resolved.
