Medical tests to be done on Akbar Owaisi

Government doctors will check if Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi is physically fit for questioning by police in reference with the case booked against him as he allegedly made hate speeches. Owaisi, the MIM leader in Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly, has also appealed to the high court, asking for orders so that police does not arrest him and also to quash cases made against him in different police stations over his alleged hate speeches. He has said due to ill-health he needed four days' time to personally appear for questioning before police in Nirmal town of Adilabad district. When the investigation officer visited the MIM leader's house he found him in a fit condition to face investigations. Tension brewed at the MIM leader's house in the posh Banjara Hills neighborhood as a huge number of his supporters assembled outside, chanting slogans in his favor. They had placards, one of which stated, "Why all rules for Akbar Owaisi, not for Narendra Modi or Praveen Togadia." Owaisi has argued that multiple cases can't be registered in many police stations over his one or two speeches. He also specified that police booked the case as there was pressure from the media. Owaisi said that his political rivals were registering complaints. The petition will be heard on Jan 9.

"Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola" gets U/A-certificate

Vishal Bhardwaj's upcoming rustic drama "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola" has got a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Bhardwaj is happy that the movie will reach a wider audience now as it is not restricted with an A rating. The film had got into issues with the censor board with Pankaj Kapur's character uttering "Pancho", which, the CBFC felt, seemed as a Hindi expletive. Now the U/A rating makes the movie fit for family audiences, including those under 18. Bhardwaj has delved into a brighter and funnier zone by deviating from his usual serious cinema. "Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola" releases on Jan 11 and has Imran Khan and Anushka Sharma in it along with Pankaj Kapoor.

Lenovo to launch giant 27-inch 'coffee table PC'

Lenovo has come up with something innovative with an idea to bring the different members of the family together with a PC which is the size of a coffee table and operates like a gigantic tablet and lets four people use it at once. The IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC will be the first “interpersonal computer” as opposed to a “personal computer” as stated by Lenovo. It’s a 27-inch (685.8-millimeter) screen with a Windows 8 computer built into it, and it can stand upright on a table. You can lay it flat for games of “Monopoly.” Four people can sit around it, and the screen can respond to ten fingers operating it at the same time. The screen is the size of eight iPads and its weight is 15 pounds (6.8 kilograms). It’s almost similar to a flat-panel TV. lt has plastic “strikers” for “Air Hockey”, and joysticks that attach to the screen with suction cups for other games.
