Rahul Gandhi, the Congress vice-president in his reply to the Election Commissioner has denied that he violated the model code of conduct. BJP had put allegations on him that his speeches in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh instigated communal sentiments. Rahul sent his reply in a sealed envelope to the Chief Election Commissioner within the 1130 am deadline. He stated his reference was to the divisive nature of politics. In his speech Rahul Gandhi has only charged the BJP of giving air to the communal fire but had also stated that Muslim youths in the riot hit Muzaffarnagar were getting in touch with Pakistani agencies. This remark had also invited sharp criticism from Muslim clerics. Responding to BJP’s complain EC had sent him a notice to specify why no action will be taken against him. Among the five states which go for polls Rajasthan and Madhya are two of them.
Two BSF personnel were shot dead by the terrorists at the border outpost in Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya along Indo-Bangladesh border. The militants who came well armed with weapons struck at Ketakona Border Outpost in Bagli area, which is in Borsora police station at a distance of 140 km from Shillong. This incident happened at around 10:30 AM. It is to be noted here that earlier on Tuesday there was a terrorist attack on a police vehicle in South Garo Hills district where five policemen were killed. BSF has also seized huge arms consignment in South Garo Hills on Thursday from the Angratoli reserve forest. These arms were for the tribal terrorists in the state. Meghalaya has a 443 km long porous border with Bangladesh. Much part of it is unfenced which facilitate infiltration of illegal immigrants, smugglers as well as terrorists.
Sensex for the 4th day in a row closed in the red as profit taking was observed in banking, oil and gas stocks and consumer durables. BSE started at 20,785.20 points and ended at 20,666.15 points (provisional), so there was a dip of 156.62 points or 0.75% from where it closed on the previous day at 20,822.77 points. In the intraday trading a high of 20,821.01 points and a low of 20,600.90 was reached. NSE also dipped and closed 46.50 points or 0.75% down at 6,140.75 points. The S&P BSE bank index dipped by 160.34 points, consumer durables index was down by 121.54 points and oil and gas index shedded103.82 points.
The Sensex had the worst weekly decline in three months.
Mohammed Shami took five wickets in the 2nd innings which helped India win the match by an innings and 51 runs. West Indies were bowled out for 168 runs. Shami set the record of capturing the maximum number of wickets by an Indian bowler on test debut. Ravichandran Ashwin grabbed three wickets while Bhuvneshwar Kumar captures one. India got a lead of 219 runs as two tons from Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin helped India compile 453 runs. Rohit Sharma struck 177 runs just 10 short of 187 made by Shikhar Dhawan on his debut. Ashwin struck 124 runs and is now in the same league as Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh by striking two tons at the fall of 6 wickets. The match was completed in three days only and the Kolkata was not able to watch Sachin bat again. In the first innings he was out for 10 runs only.

India test fired Agni-I missile successfully today from its military base in Odisha. This is nuclear-capable surface-to-surface missile which has been developed. The Agni-I can strike at a range of 700 km. The testing was done by the Strategic Force Command of the army from a base on Wheeler Island located in Dhamra, Bhadrak district, 170 km from Bhubaneshwar. Launched from a road mobile launcher system the missile was targeted at the Bay of Bengal and was monitored by radar, telemetry stations which was positioned at the coastline.On the other hand ISRO successfully finished the 2nd orbit raising maneuvers of Mars Orbiter Spacecraft at 2:18 am on Friday.
Krrish 3 is now all set to touch the Rs200 crore mark. In fact it is to be seen whether it touches the Rs 225 crore mark of Chennai Express. The movie picked up exceptionally in the weekdays and broke one record after the other. In the first week the movie has grossed Rs 165 crore. Rakesh Roshan who started his directorial career with Khudgarz in 1987 must be having the last laugh. He is being credited with the fact that he has changed with the time and incorporated all the new aspects in his movies. Hrithik will join the 200 crore club along with Aamir and Shah Rukh. His two films reached the 100 crore club as Agneepath had already grossed 100 crore. Similarly Vivek Oberoi who has received appreciation for his negative role had Grand Masti and this movie reaching the 100 crore club. Priyanka too will be in the same league as Kareena and Deepika once Krrish 3 reaches the 200 crore club.
