On the grounds that INLD Chief Om Prakash Chautala is misusing his bail, taken on health grounds, for campaigning for his party's candidates, CBI has approached Delhi High Court for cancelling his bail. O P Chautala was in jail in teachers' recruitment scam case. CBI wants the court to reschedule October 17 bail deadline.
Pakistan Rangers now target more than eighty villages and sixty BSF posts along international border in fresh shelling. Defence Minister Arun Jaitley has warned Pakistan by saying the cost of their adventurism may become unaffordable for them. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured that his government will not let the country down and PM is directly monitoring the situation. On repeated ceasefire violation by Pakistan, India has lodged a strong protest with the adventurist neighbour.
After examining the report sent by Haryana CEO, Election Commission has said that there was no violation of Model Code of Conduct on behalf of Hooda government in clearing DLF-Robert Vadra land deal. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during one of his election campaign rallies in Haryana, alleged that current Congress government violated MCC by nodding to the deal and urged EC to look into the matter.
NDA government is planning to link its ambitious Ganga rejuvenation plan with hydro electric projects. Keeping this in mind the government has also proposed newer norms that the proponents of the projects need to comply before getting environmental clearance.
Though MET department in West Bengal has clearly said that there are no threat from HudHud cyclonic storm to WB, state government is not taking chances. A special control room has been set up in the state secretariat for administering the situation. Red alert has also being issued for West and East Midnapore districts as HudHud is expected to hit Andhra Pradesh-Orissa coastal belt on October 12.
As CID reports point at terror link with Burdwan blast and use of Indian soil (West Bengal) for exporting terror to Bangladesh, Dhaka has sought information from Delhi. India is yet to respond officially. Before handing over investigation to NIA, Union Home Ministry has sought information from WB government. As Trinamool vouches for CID probe, BJP and CPIM demand for NIA probe. As reports surface that West Bengal Police destroyed crucial evidence, clamour for NIA probe increased. CID has filed cases under UAPA Act against the accused in this case.
While inaugurating Global Investors' Summit in Indore, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India should not only be regarded as a mere market but as a manufacturing hub too, where immense opportunities are there for foreign investors to explore. This 2-day summit in Indore is focusing on medium, small, and micro enterprises, where twenty foreign countries including South Africa, Canada, and Australia are participating.

CeBIT India has joined hands with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) for promoting software industry in India. As per the MoU signed between them, hundred MSMEs will be able to showcase themselves from November 12 to November 14, 2014 at Bangalore’s STPI pavilion. MSMEs are expected to benefit immensely from the mentoring sessions.
On the list of Forbes’ most valuable sportspersons of the world, Indian Cricket Captain M S Dhoni has figured at fifth position. In the year 2014, his brand value stands at USD 20 million, around USD 1 million less than last year.
