BJP has said that the PM should also resign as the two ministers have done.
According to them, the PM has no option but to submit his resignation. BJP President Rajnath Singh stated there was no other option but to form a new government. It was also specified that the present situation is a matter of deep concern and the issues would not be resolved only with the resignation of one or two ministers but the entire machinery has to be revamped to function well and that would only happen if the PM submits his resignation. Law Minister Aswini Kumar who resigned on Friday said that he had tendered his resignation only to do away with the controversies. Pawan Kumar Bansal also was forced to resign on Friday.
The speculations are rife over whether PM Manmohan Singh tried to shield his ministerial colleagues and whether the presence of Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s secretary Ahmed Patel be viewed as Sonia’a directive to the PM that he ensured the ministers resigned.
C.P. Joshi will be handling the additional portfolio of railway while Kapil Sibal will look after the law and justice ministry.
Siddaramaiah would be the 22nd Chief Minister of Karnataka and he was entrusted this responsibility in four hours flat by the Congress leaders by unanimously opting for him. He will be taking his oath on Monday.
Though the decision came in the shortest time to elect him Chief Minister, the process was not easy when he was elected as the leader of CLP. As his rivals ensured, he had a tough time in the process. What worked in his favor was the presence of observers such as AK Antony, Jitendra Singh, Luizinho Faleiro and Madhusudan Mistry who were there to look into the selection process.
The 121 Congress MLAs were divided into four groups and the four central observers asked the views of each of the MLA over their choice for the CM. The MLA’s opinions were also taken into account through secret ballot.
Jewelers are gearing up for brisk business on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya which falls on May 13, Monday.
Though there was a dip in prices of gold and it went down lowest in as many as 15 months but this is not a dampener for the business. As the jewelers think this would prompt the buyers to acquire more gold and an increase of 25-30% is expected in the sale of gold. For this, the jewelers both online and those selling through stores are offering attractive discounts and many offers to lure the customers.
In fact, it has been noted that every year at this time gold sale increases by 10-15% and there is high demand for gold jewelry and coins.

Mumbai Indians defeated Pune Warriors India by five wickets at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune. Pune Warriors were restricted to only 112 for eight in reply Mumbai Indians made 116 for five in 18.5 overs and that got them two points each.
Chennai Super Kings are at the top of the table with 20 points with Mumbai and Rajasthan in a tussle with two points behind.

He would be seen interviewing himself on a news channel. Slated for release in May 17 and directed by Atul Sabharwal, the movie also has Prithviraj, Sikandar Kher, Rishi Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Amrita Singh, Deepti Naval, Tanvi Azmi, Swara Bhaskar as well as debutante Sasha Aagha.
What is interesting is that Arjun has written the script for this movie promotion.
Science and Technology
Facebook is in talks with Waze, the Israel based navigation app to acquire it for $1 billion.
Waze with a base of 40 million users with its GPS-based navigation system works towards saving time through driving directions, traffic jam alerts and various other road and traffic info in real time.
The community driven app would be a good option for Facebook to get into the domain of online maps.
